The focus of this reflective retreat is to take a step back from the busy experience of college to have fun and reflect on where you want to go over the next four years. Get-Away 2017 will take place Sept. 29-30.

The Campus experienced an interruption in electrical service on Wednesday, September 20, and 2 interruptions of service September 26. Duke Energy determined that in the process of switching loads around, they were overloading an autorecloser. An autorecloser, is a circuit breaker equipped with a mechanism that can automatically close the breaker after it has been opened due to a fault. Reclosers are used on overhead distribution systems to detect and interrupt momentary faults. Since many short-circuits on overhead lines clear themselves, a recloser improves service continuity by automatically restoring power to the line after a momentary fault.
Duke Energy has made adjustments to prevent this from recurring again.

Join the Bias Advisory and Response Team (BART) for our first Day of Dialogue this academic year tomorrow, Sept. 26 @ 2:30pm. We will be exploring definitions of free speech, hate speech and how we identify strategies for constructively engaging across our differences with the hope of finding the common good. This is a reminder that the deadline to apply for Fall 2017 graduation is this upcoming Friday, September 29th. Any application submitted after September 29th will be charged an additional late fee of $50.
The graduation application is available online or via the Student Hub---Self-Service---Student Services.
In addition to applying for graduation, undergraduate students must also successfully complete CORE 499.
